I don't know what you mean here, from what I can tell from
the original announcement they are going
from a format which is very much like the Swedish Krönika
to a format that is something "between a comic magazine and a book". (And the Krønike has always been sold in newstands, like other comic books).
If there was something in the CC announcement that didn't make this very clear, I apologize cause I was the one who wrote that
As Predabot says, the situation is different for each country:
Finland: The last Phantom series cancelled, four issues away from 1000 issues. No plans for replacements yet, Phantom fans are encouraged to subscribe to Swedish Fantomen(!) instead.
Situation: Tragic.
Norway: Fantomet continues as before, Krønike gets retooled into a new series.
Situation: OK
Sweden: Fantomen continues as before. Annual Christmas albums and Hardcover reprints of old Fantomen issues still published. Fantomen Krönika cancelled and there has only been vague reports that something new might be coming next year.
Situation: Uncertain but hopeful
