Did you try The Reading Eagle? It is available from Google. I believe they have featured Mandrake for many years.

This list has been compiled after exhausting all Google newspapers & Newspaper Archive.

I found the August 8 1999 (S179) strip in the Reading Eagle on Google Archives - it's on page 356. They ran Mandrake every Sunday so as long as they scanned that section it should be there.

Yes, indeed. But they were in a different format in RE. I was wondering if there were these strips in a strip format rather than a tower format.
